1.      The reason why most people do not want to order online is also our number one thing that should be done before you order.  Get a sample.  The biggest objection according to a recent study of 5,000 people is that customers want to touch and feel the product first.  We understand that and that is why we encourage you to order a sample before you purchase, we try to encourage you by offering samples at the lowest possible price, so please order a sample.

2.    Pictures online are different depending on your monitor and settings.  Glass tile by is particularly hard to photograph as it is reflective by nature.  Please order a sample of the glass tile before you order, just one piece of 4x8” or 6x6” – just so you are certain with the color.  A $10 investment, it is well worth it.

3.     Familiarize yourself with the shipping policy.  We transport your order to freight terminal docks on our own trucks.  It is then signed for by the terminal supervisor as received in ‘excellent condition.’  If your order gets to its delivery destination and it is damaged then it was the freight companies fault.  They will want you to sign for the product as signing for it states that you are accepting the product in ‘excellent condition’ the same condition it was shipped in.  Once you sign if there is damage Builders Depot Direct cannot claim from the freight company on your behalf.  The same applies for missing boxes or boxes that may fall off the shipment, every order has a packing slip when you collect from the terminal or when the shipment arrives it will take you 20 seconds to count the number of boxes on the packing slip against the number of boxes on the pallet. 

        Both you and Builders Depot Direct have spent hours (maybe weeks), finding you the best products, researching freight rates, carefully packing your order and checking samples - we cannot control the shipping company, you must make at least one check once the product arrives, please do not email us 2 weeks later saying you only received 70SF of Hexagon when you ordered 150SF - 10 seconds would have been all it would take to count 7 boxes (10sf to a box) instead 15 - then email us straight away, make a note on the BOL and ask the shipping manager or delivery person to sign in acknowledgment.  We could have then, at the freight companies expense re-shipped 8 more boxes and claimed the 8 boxes of Hexagon the freight company lost.  This is exceptionally rare, but count - simple 10 second check.  If you do not feel you can do this or pass this to your contractor to do so, please do not order from us, please order from another company.

4.    This is only relevant to natural stone and particularly our 3x6” collection (read about shade variation).  You have ordered a sample, but 2-3 weeks has passed and now you are ready to place your order for 150SF of 3x6” Subway Carrara Venato.  The 3x6” subway tile is the fastest selling product line, we can get through a complete delivery in 2-3 weeks and then another delivery of 3x6” subway tile will arrive.  This could be different to your sample as we may have already sold the previous tile.  Before you place your order for 100 or 200SF order 1SF of 3x6”, it will cost under $20.00 delivered, but by ordering a square foot you will get a better idea of the shade variation and confirm that the product in stock is what you want to order.  A $20.00 insurance policy is a good idea before placing a $1,000 order.
